Long delay, but T-man has been a blessing and a handfull

We have been caught up with Tyce and how fast he has been growing. Recently, his lower jaw has discovered pretty much all of his teeth. That was fun. Now that he can eat more solid foods, he’s been a real treat. Happy most mornings, and ready to get his day started. Today while I sit in my dark office in hades, Jennifer and Tyce are going on an outing to the beach with some of her other mommy friends and their kids. (Mostly girls) lol. Tyce will for sure be flirting. That is all for now. More posts to come. (time permitting)

New tricks…

So, in this last month this kid has started doing a lot of things.  I got his potty back out a while back and the first time I put him on it he peed!  We thought it had to be a coincidence.  We put him on it the next day and he peed again!!!  Before long he was peeing and even pooping in it!  We put him on the potty about 4 times a day and he pees every time and poops at least once maybe twice a day.  He can’t tell us he has to go yet, of course, but at least he is associating it with going to the bathroom.  That’s amazing to us.  We are trying to do the sign language for “potty”, hoping that it will click in his head and then he can tell us.  The other day, I was in the bathroom and I heard him grunting.  I yelled out for him to come poop in the potty and he crawled into the bathroom and put his hand in his potty.  I got his diaper off and sat him down, sure enough he sat there and pooped!  He has also started giving kisses, or leaning into your face when you ask for a kiss. He will “snuzzle” his blankets or stuffed animals.  It is so cute.  When I would take a sip of water, I started saying “AAhhhhh” and he does it when I take a drink and after he does too.  He “clicks” really loud on the roof of his mouth.  Will was changing him the other day and had a hat on.  Tyce was trying to play with it and Will took it off to give it to him and Will said “hat”  and Tyce repeated him! He said it about 4 times!  He has said it a couple times since, too!  He points at our eye and repeats “eye” also.  He is acttually using my old giraffe to walk behind it.  He likes to push it from the side, too.   Will was feeding him last night and pinched Tyce’s cheeks and Tyce reached up and pinched both of Will’s cheeks!   Later on that night, we were all in the floor playing and Will started tickling me and Tyce started doing it too!  At one point Tyce crawled over to the back door and grabbed on of Will’s flip flops and I told him “no”  I said it about 2 times and then I started towerds him and he throew it down and crawled away!  He had this look on his face like “oh noo”  He also got a piece of grass off the floor and put it in his mouth before I could grab it.  I kind of squeezed his cheeks and brought his face to mine and said “I can’t get it”  and he laughed really hard.  It made me laugh but then I blew into his mouth and spit flew all over my face and the piece of grass came out. I kept doing that and he kept laughing sooo hard it was cracking all of us up.  I am going to have to start making entries more often so I remember details of all the great things he’s doing now.  GiGi and Pop came by for a visit on their way back through from Karyn’s house.  They had Leah and David with them.  Emily came over and spent the night.  Tyce had fun playing with all the kids and getting to see the g.g.parents!

Tampa

We all went to Tampa for our anniversary.  Drove 12 hours to get there!  Tyce was pretty good the whole way down.  We had to get him out a few times and walk around with him.  He didn’t really sleep very well, but was in good spirits considering.  We got there on 7/4 and went to Crabby Bill’s  on Courtney Campbell.  We had oysters and Tyce got to try Gator Tail.  He liked it, of course.  He was flirting the table of girls beside us and got their attention pretty quick.  He did NOT like the fireworks going off by the water, they were really loud.  But he did get to walk in the sand for the first time while we were there.  The next morning R. Willy and his girl friend and little girl took us out on the boat to Canadessy Island. It was a lot of fun but we got burnt. I slathered Tyce with the sunscreen but didn’t want to get it in his eyes so I went all the way around the socket.  Well he looked like he had been crying for hours or had really bad allergies.  His little eyes were pink for about 4 days after and they peeled.  I felt so horrible! We went to some of our favorite spots to eat and to Sand Key Beach on our anniversary. Tyce did not like the waves from the ocean, but he loved the seagulls, so even though I hate birds I fed them some of Tyce’s snacks so they would all come around for him to enjoy.  One day we met Erin and Virginia for Cuban food in YBOR.  Erni came to hang with us a couple times and Me and Tyce met Erni and Tom for a cocktail. Katie came over with Colton, her 3 month old boy, and I babysat him while she went to work for an hour and then we all went to lunch.  On Saturday, we met Janet, Tom and Natasha and Patrick at the beach and played all day.  Erni met us there also.  Tyce was extremely good the whole week.  We didn’t get great sleep because Tyce would wake up as soon as the sun started to come up and would cry or fuss until we would get him out of his pack n play and bring him into our bed.  He was an angel all the way home.  Slept most of the way.  We stopped in Kennesaw and met mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, Mark, Susan and Zach so everyone could give Tyce hugs and see how big he’s got.  He was a little zombie and didn’t smile very much.  Ithink he was tired and ready to be home!  It took him about 2 weeks before he was back to his old self.

So much has happened!!

This child has just taken off!  He is crawling around getting into everything thanks to Nanni.  We went to visit her a few weeks ago and she got on the floor with him quite a bit and taught him to crawl.  He was getting on all fours, but that was it.  It helped that she had carpet.  He started standing in his bed not too long ago and now he’s pulling up on the coffee table and anything else that he can find.  He’s even trying to stand up in the tub!  He started walking with our help before he would even crawl.  We thought for sure he was going to just skip the crawling.  He acted like he could have cared less about it.  Now that he is mobile he is in to EVERYTHING!!  We tell him “no” and shake our head so much that the monkey has started copying us!  When we say “no”  he will shake his head back and forth!  He will also copy us when we make different sounds.  He will click his tongue on the roof of his mouth and hum.  Any time he hears music or if we sing, he will hum along, too.  I just started taking him on a morning walk about 4 days ago and I noticed that once we get going, he will start humming.  He is still a little wishy-washy on the waving “bye bye” but the “high 5″ has been perfected!  He has just got his 3rd tooth, his top left front tooth.  His 1st was the bottom right, then 2nd was bottom left.  I think I feel his 4th on  thinking about coming in.  Now he is able to eat real food that we cut up realllllly little.  He has loved everything so far.  Especially corn on the cob!  Well, I eat the corn and give him the cob to chew on, and he LOVES it!  He has also started gritting the top and bottom tooth, eeewwwww.  Makes me shiver.  These top teeth have bothered him more than the bottom ones did coming in.  He rubs his face and sticks his fingers in his ears and up his nose trying to find the pain.  Father’s day was great!  We served WIll breakfast in bed.  Blueberry pancakes that spelled “DAD” with sausage, banana and pineapple on the side.  We printed out a “Dora the Explorer” card off the web and colored on it and signed it.  We found a rock in the yard and made a paper weight out of it that said “My Dad Rocks”  We also bought him some madras shorts that math Tyce’s newsboy hat, VERY CUTE!  Tyce loves to sit over the a/c vents and let the air blow on his face.  His hair flies and his little face and hands get so cold.  What a cutie!

Tyce stood up by himself!!

So Tyce has started pulling himself up by holding our fingers!  Yesterday I put him down for a nap and after about 15 minutes of him babblling, I went to check on him and he was standing up at the end of the bed!  NICE!

T is getting another tooth!

When I was changing Tyce for bed tonight, I was cleaning his tooth, and when I held the tooth brush toward his mouth and he opened up I saw his gum beside his tooth looks like there is another about to pop through!  He has been grumpy lately, and we were having to fight with him to take a bottle, I guess that’s why.  I was an awesome day today, as all days with this little guy.  I really love the weekends when we can all play together as a family.  Tyce is so much fun, and we love him so much.  We love to hang out together, and just hang.  I love to just sit and watch him experiencing things and the excitement in his little face.  I think he is waving bye bye, for sure.  It takes a nudge half the time, but the other half he does it by his self.  Too CUTE!

Tyce sat up by himself!!!

Tyce actually went from laying down to sitting back up by himself!  He has been getting on all fours today, too!  Everything is starting to happen faster and faster.  I don’t know if I like it!!  It’s like, all of a sudden, it clicked in his head that he could be mobile without his walker!  He is so proud!  I think he is starting to wave bye bye, too.  He’s done it a few times and I thought it was coincidence at first, but he does keep doing it, so I think he does understand.

Tyce has a tooth!!

Well, Tyce finally got a tooth to come through around my b-day.  He keeps sticking his tongue out and rolling it onto his bottom lip.  We think it’s because he can feel the tooth rub against the bottom of his tongue.  too cute!  Will bought him a training potty a few weeks ago.   It’s a cute little frog.  When he got it home we sat Tyce on it to see what he thought.  He looks so big on it.  Seems to like it.  We thought if we introduce it to him now, it won’t be such a huge deal to try to get him on it later.  We hope.  He has been having a hard time pooping since we started giving him baby food.  Not really constipated, but he has a hard time.  Poor thing makes himself throw up trying so hard.  The other day he actually got sick 7 times.  I put him on the potty thinking it would be a little easier for him and sure enough about 5 minutes later, he had success!!  I had to wash his walker and give  him a bath.  I can’t believe he pooped in the potty!  Not that he knows what he did.  I tried to show him and make a big deal, but…

Will also got him a kiddie pool.  We filled it up this weekend, since it was actually warm and sunny!!   We put it on the front porch and I sat out there with him for a long time.    He loved it!!   He was having so much fun, he didn’t even realize he never ate after his last nap.  I forgot too.   It was GOOD TIMES!!!!

Last Friday was my b-day and we went to Tamara’s house for the day.  We had so much fun.  Will took the day off and we went to eat Mexican, and walked to the park.  Tamara slid down the slide with Tyce.  He had a blast!!

He’s growing up too fast!

I haven’t written in a while because all of a sudden Tyce started doing so much and growing up so fast I didn’t want to miss anything.  First off, we started feeding the little guy baby food.  He has loved everything so far, even the prunes we had to give him because the food was making him a little stopped up.  Since then we have let him suck on a pickle, apple and even a lime, which he loved.  Will let him  suck on the end of a banana and he loved it too.    He has started babble talk.  ”Dadadada” and making popping sounds with his mouth.  One day a couple weeks ago Tyce was in his walker and spit up a little.  When i went to get him out I noticed he had a poopy diaper.  He has been having such a hard time pooping lately he makes himself throw up trying to push it out, poor thing.   I took him to change his diaper and as soon as I got the clean diaper on him, he started pooping again!  THEN as soon as I got that cleaned, he peed all over himself.  I thought “what else can he possibly do?!?!?”    Tyce sometimes helps me close the microwave door when I get his water for his bottle out.   One day I was holding him and waiting for him to lock his elbow so I could help him close the door.  I kept saying “close the door”  and he just stared off into space.  After about the 4th or 5th time, he got this s**t eating grin on his face and cut his eyes at me, like he was thinking “you can’t make me”  What a MONKEY!!  On 3/12 we had Tyce laying on our bed (which has a dip in the center because it’s a piece of crap) Amyway, it made it easier for Tyce to roll over!  This was the first time he did it from his back to front.  He had done it a couple times the other way but not for a LONG time.  I don’t think he really cared to.  The weekend of 3/14 we went to Atlanta.  We met up with some friends from middle school and some others at Bahama Breeze for lunch.  It was so much fun and Tyce was so good the whole time.  I was afraid he would be weird or scared of people, since it’s just me and him all day, every day and he doesn’t see anyone else but me and Will.  We went to see Grandma and Grandpa the day we left.  Tyce just loved on Grandma.  She really enjoyed him!!  On 3/18 I had him in the floor on a playmat we found him on Craigslist.  HE ROLLED OVER 4 TIMES!!!  From his back to his front.  I think he learned it watching Addyson!    Tamara and Matt got married on 3/21 so Tyce had another big week of new faces and a lot of attention.  He was amazing.  He danced with Tamara, and Deidra.  It was very nice, and they threw it together in a week and a half!!  Nanny stayed with us for a couple nights and Emily spent the night on Sunday night before they left to go to S.C. for a week.  They watched “Bolt” that night and Tyce was GLUED to the T.V.  He kept laughing at the cat and smiling.  He loved it.  I went to go rinse his bottle out and had him sitting in the recliner watching the movie.  All of a sudden Nanny called me to look at him and he had fallen asleep and his little head was slumped over, poor thing was so tired.  He has been such a great sport during these last 2 weeks.  Tyce is giving “high 5″ now too!  Sort-of.  When i put my hand up and say “high 5″  he will touch his hand to mine.  he has the right idea, just not the strength to smack it.  Funny though.  We went for his 6 month check up yesterday and he weighed 16 lbs even and was 27 14 ” long!  Everything is going well and he looks good.  We went to a different doctor this time.  No more Kids Kare after the doctor kept calling Tyce a “she”  Now we are at Cookeville Pediactrics.  I liked Dr. Franklin a lot better.

Tyce is still having trouble

Tyce has flipped over 3 times now from his front to his back.  I think he doesn’t realize what he’s doing.  So he’s not trying,  really.  When we have him on his back, we put his toys behind his head so he tries to turn and look at them.  It seems to work a little.  Now he actually tries to touch them.  Slowly he is getting the idea.   We have also started trying to not feed him when he wakes up at night, hoping that it will help him transition to sleep through.  The first few nights he woke up once or twice but I just gave him his binky, turned on his seahorse,  and rubbed his head.  He went right back to sleep!  Nice!  It’s been about a week now, and the only time he woke up again and needed to be fed was on Saturday night.  Not bad, considering it was just an idea I had.  I was thinking if we keep feeding him every time he wakes up then it will just going on and on and on.  I had to try something new.  I  read some where to just crack the door and tell him it’s ok and he’s ok and he needs to go back to sleep.  I thought that was too extreme of a difference right away.  I decided not to pick him up and just soothe him to calm him down.  I can’t believe it worked!  He is actually sleeping for about 11 hours now without waking.  We’ll see how long it lasts.  I hope it’s not just a phase.  We got his high chair out and put it in the kitchen.  He’s eaten 2 times now in it.  He seems to like it.  We all sat at the kitchen table last night and ate dinner.  Well, Tyce sat in his chair while we ate at the table.  He was happy playing with his toys and hanging with us.  He’s getting to be a big boy.  He’s slowly leaving the baby stuff behind.  Makes me proud and sad at the same time.  His little personality is coming out more and more, too.  He is the cutest kid, I swear!  He is getting to be a daddy”s boy, too.  He loves to be with his dad.  Will had him out on the table in his bumbo on the back patio with him while he was grilling during Super Bowl on Sunday.  He was all bundled up and happy as could be, just hanging with daddy!
